Comments: Deodar Cedar is a common ornamental tree in the Northwest. All the true cedars have needles that grow in bundles on short stems, like larch needles. Deodar Cedar needles are about 2 inches long. In India and Pakistan, Deodar Cedar has been used in the construction of temples and in boat construction, and continues to be an important timber tree. It is the national tree of Pakistan. The name “Deodar” is derived from the sanskrit term for "wood of the gods."
