Comments: Western Larch is a large deciduous conifer that grows to 160 feet (50 m.). It has needles that are less than 2 inches (5 cm.) long and grow in bundles of 15 to 30. In the fall, the needles turn golden-yellow and fall to the ground. The cones are 1 to 2 inches (3 to 5 cm.) long with round scales and pointed bracts that stick out beyond the scales.
