Comments: This larch grows from 1600 to 9500 feet (500 to 2900 m.) in its native habitat. It is widely planted as a forestry tree in Japan and northern Europe. The wood is used for general construction. The needles are up to 2 inches (5 cm.) long and grow in bundles of 20-35 on short, woody pegs. They turn bright yellow in the fall and fall to the ground.
