Comments:
June snow giant dogwood is a medium sized deciduous tree, with distinctive and strongly horizontal branching structure. The layered branches are covered with clusters of frothy 6-inch white flowers in June and blue-black fruit clusters in autumn. Leaves simple, alternate, dark green. Fall foliage color ranges from orange to red and plum reds. In the winter the layered branches are reminiscent of a tiered layer cake.
Plant this striking tree in a moist, well-drained soil with light or open shade. It can be adaptable to sandy soils and clay with regular watering during dry weather. As it is noted for its beautifully layered, low branches, it should be planted where it has plenty of room to spread.
