Comments:
This hemlock looks similar to Western Hemlock (Tsuga heterophylla), with similar dark short needles and ¾ inch (2 cm.) cones. However, the needles are shorter (about ½ inch long) and shiny on top. It is a handsome landscape tree that is shade tolerant and often shrub-like.
